Meet Our Leadership Team
Ricardo Choo-Yin
I have worked at Adventures Child Care for eleven years. My birth country is England. However, Trinidad and Tobago are where I spent my childhood years. Growing up in Trinidad was fun as we had lots of outside time and great friends to play with. Of course, I enjoy many outdoor activities like hiking, bike riding, and when indoors, I enjoy lifting weights. I also spend a lot of time with my children, Pierce and Yemaya. Even though I enjoy all types of food, I especially enjoy spicy foods. Each year in summer, I visit my mom in Florida.
I am currently in school taking my early childhood educator courses. My goal is to improve the lives and outcomes of all the children in my program. I am happiest when all the children are playing and having fun.
Brandi-lyn Lamers
Brandi-lyn is a dedicated professional, excited to be a part of the Wonderment team. With a Diploma in Child and Youth Counselling earned from Fanshawe College, she brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for childcare, allowing her to create a nurturing and inspiring environment for children under her care.
Her journey in the childcare field began in 2008 when she worked as a Child and Youth Counsellor in Ontario, specifically in Youth Group Care, while pursuing her graduate studies. This experience laid the foundation for her passion and commitment to working with children and youth.
In 2010, Brandi made the decision to move to Alberta to further expand her passion to support the development and well-being of children and youth. She continued this work until 2016, in a variety of roles that allowed her to make a positive difference. Notably, her experience working with Child and Family Services played a crucial role in developing the ethics and positive child guidance she practises in her career today.
From 2017 to present Brandi has held the position of Director at Adventures Childcare, an established local child centre operating in 3 different locations.
With her strong background in child and youth counselling, coupled with her dedication to continuous growth and improvement, Brandi is eager to collaborate with fellow educators and parents to ensure that every child at Wonderment Child Centre thrives and reaches their fullest potential.
Karla Buick
Karla, our esteemed Program Supervisor at Wonderment Child Centre, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team of Childcare Professionals in Calgary. With a strong background in working with children and managing diverse programs, Karla is well-prepared to lead our childcare centre to new heights. Her unwavering passion for nurturing young minds and creating engaging learning experiences is truly inspiring. As we embark on a new year, Karla’s enthusiasm and dedication make her an invaluable addition to the Wonderment family.
